I had that four note melody stuck in my head and I just knew I wanted some crazy drum groove on top of it. I also had the idea of putting the bass and kick in the same bus and distorting it, like I've done on "Luigi's Mansion, but it's in Doom, "Downtempo Spook," etc.
Originally, the intro mainly consisted of this sorta free-time vocal thing and the synths fading in. I realized after a few days that I wasn't a fan of the vocal thing and got rid of it, it was kind of cringe lol.
For a while, the song just ended with a fade out of that vocal idea, but months later I thought it'd be cool to bitcrush the master and chop it up a bit (hyperpop vibes mayb?). It's a little out there haha, but I think I like it.
